Responsibilities:This internship will involve practical hands-on experience by observing and participating in day-to-day operations of YMCA youth and adult sports programs. Emphasis is placed on developing competence in basic professional methods such as analysis, fiscal management, planning, record keeping, promotion, programming, teaching and member services.
Requirements:- Educational Background Needed: Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management
- Currently is an undergraduate or graduate student in good standing, both academically and otherwise.
- Meet the YMCA’s screening standards including background screening and drug testing.
Intern candidates who agree to participate in YMCA internships assume responsibilities for learning about the nature of the work of the YMCA, its aims, policies and procedures. While actively associated with the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, he/she agrees to exhibit our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of work as an intern with the YMCA and abide by all YMCA policies, rules and procedures. Additionally, the intern agrees to fulfill all assigned tasks to the best of his/her ability, making no significant changes in the established schedule without prior knowledge of the YMCA and partnering organization.
