Healthy Living Intern

Intern candidates under the Healthy Living Department will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Organize health fair and screening information and equipment
- Staff health fair events to promote YMCA programming and community health initiatives
- Collect and analyze health fair and screening data
- Create and present health education lectures on various topics
- Assist dietitians with weight management programs
- Assist health educator with disease management and prevention programming
- Assist Vice President with coordinating events related to First Coast Games
- Create monthly Corporate Wellness Newsletter
- Create utilization reports for Corporate Wellness members with First Coast YMCA memberships.
This intern will report and collaborate with the following people:
- Tim DeViese, Vice President, YMCA
- Mike O’Brien, Director of Corporate Wellness, YMCA
- Jennifer Joy, Director of Wellness Operations, YMCA
- Currently is an undergraduate or graduate student in good standing, both academically and otherwise.
- Meet the YMCA’s screening standards including background screening and drug testing.
Intern candidates who agree to participate in YMCA internships assume responsibilities for learning about the nature of the work of the YMCA, its aims, policies and procedures. While actively associated with the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, he/she agrees to exhibit our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of work as an intern with the YMCA and abide by all YMCA policies, rules and procedures. Additionally, the intern agrees to fulfill all assigned tasks to the best of his/her ability, making no significant changes in the established schedule without prior knowledge of the YMCA and partnering organization.
